Strategic Mobile Solutions Boutique Launches Specialized Application For New York’s Queens Library
Clearly Innovative works to help libraries rebuild and rally communities in areas damaged by Superstorm Sandy

Washington, D.C., June 6, 2014 – Clearly Innovative, Washington, D.C.’s most exciting new mobile solutions provider and interactive cross-platform design agency, is reinventing the way communities visit the library through a multiphase Google tablet and mobile application solution for Queens Library in New York. The application will provide a multi-dimensional experience to library patrons by allowing them to access various library resources in the palm of their hand. The app is featured on 5,000 Nexus 7 tablets donated by Google to areas throughout New York devastated by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Over 17,000 units were donated to various libraries throughout the state by Google.

The app, designed exclusively for Queens Library, provides an effective tool for patrons to view events and information, access curated content, and download e-books and e-magazines from the library. Upon completion, the project will also bring the Queens Library experience to a mobile platform and provide complete access to the library’s wealth of information and resources. The app is built utilizing Titanium’s cross-platform Appcelerator platform.

“We are thrilled to be working with Queens Library and Google on this groundbreaking project,” said Clearly Innovative Founder, Aaron Saunders. “This project will bring immediate access to the library’s vast collections of books, magazines, and other resources, allowing patrons of all ages to connect into the library in ways never available before.”

Clearly Innovative has begun work on the second phase of the project, integrating additional vendors for eContent and building a version of the application for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. They will also provide a mobile phone solution.

“The ingenuity and complete integration that Clearly Innovative is bringing to this project will change the way our community experiences all the library has to offer and bring us into the 21st century,” said Thomas W. Galante, President and CEO of Queen’s Library. “Their creativity and talent exceeded our expectations with this project and we know our visitors will love this new way of accessing information.”

The tablets will be loaned to cardholders from seven Queens Library locations: Howard Beach, Broad Channel, Arverne, Far Rockaway, Queens Library for Teens in Far Rockaway, Rockaway Beach and Rockaway Park. Patrons will be able to check out the tablets for up to a month at a time with the option to renew.
