Clearly Innovative’s technology education brand, formerly known as Luma Lab, is now known as In3 Education. Additionally, In3 Education will now be the technology education brand of the Inclusive Innovation Incubator (In3), the nation’s first affordable networking, co-working and training incubator intentionally focused on diversity and inclusion.
“The name In3 Education affirms our commitment to creating opportunities for people in our city to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the innovation economy,” said Aaron Saunders, Founder and CEO of In3 DC and Clearly Innovative. “Access to the right programs and resources has been a perpetual barrier to entry for underrepresented tech entrepreneurs and other individuals. We also understand that in order to build a pipeline of future tech sector innovators, we have to provide meaningful learning experiences for our youth. In3 Education programs address both of these issues.”
In3 Education will continue to encourage tech inclusivity through programming that engages and teaches an array of technical and entrepreneurial skills to underserved and underrepresented communities. Its flagship youth program teaches students how to apply technical skills to solve community issues. Students brainstorm a mobile app idea, learn how to code and create a mobile app prototype, and present their mobile app prototype in a pitch competition. In3 Education will also expand its programming to include new courses and workshops for adults related to technology, entrepreneurship and workplace skills. This broadened focus on youth and adults supports the mission of the Inclusive Innovation Incubator (In3) to ensure access to education and opportunities in the technology sector to under-resourced communities.
